Think of it like
A museum where every visitor gets a numbered ticket, and that number is printed faintly on everything they look at. The guards can't stop someone sketching from memory — but if a numbered copy shows up in a shop, the museum looks up the ticket.

Each visit gets its own code. Your name and that code are drawn into the pixels, and the plain image link is pulled out of the live page.

Every attempt — and one view per page per visit — goes to your server: time, page, browser, country. Never the IP address itself.

The honest Q&A.
Can it stop screenshots?
No web page can reliably stop screenshots. On a desktop keyboard, AvaBlockedYa hides the art the moment the usual screenshot key combinations start, and blanks it when a snipping tool takes focus. It can't do anything about phone buttons, screen recorders or a camera pointed at the screen. What it does is put your name and a traceable visit code on the art as it's displayed — so a capture of the protected page carries them.
Will visitors see a watermark?
Yes. Your name and the visit code are tiled across the image at low opacity, with a fainter code layer underneath. That's the deterrent. If you want a perfectly clean-looking gallery, this isn't that product.
Can someone still download the original file?
A casual visitor can't: right-click, drag and save are blocked, and direct links from other sites are refused. A technically skilled person can — a browser has to download an image to show it. That's exactly why the watermark and the trace exist.
What does "Trace a watermark code" show me?
Every view and capture attempt recorded for that code: time, page, browser and country, plus other activity from the same network that day. It doesn't show a name, an email or an IP address — the product never collects those.
Does it tell me who copied my work?
No. It tells you which visit a copy came from and what that visit did. Turning that into a person usually takes other evidence, such as a platform's records through a takedown or a legal process. A code match on its own isn't proof of who did it.
Does it use cookies or track people?
No cookies and no cross-site tracking. IP addresses are stored only as a hash scrambled with a salt that changes every day and is deleted after two days. The script does keep the visit code in the browser's session storage. Ask your privacy adviser whether you need a notice for that where you are.
Will a gallery opening or a conference break it?
No. It was built for a whole room sharing one Wi-Fi address: limits are set per visit, per network and site-wide, loose enough that a busy room is still logged.
What if a visitor turns JavaScript off?
Then the watermark can't be drawn and the browser's normal save works. Very few visitors browse that way, but we'd rather you hear it from us. Server-side stamping for that case is on the roadmap.
Is this the same as Pixsy or Copytrack?
No — a different job. Those services search the web for copies after the fact and help with takedowns or compensation. AvaBlockedYa works on your own site at the moment of viewing. They fit together: a code on a copy Pixsy finds is extra evidence of where it came from.
Does it stop AI companies training on my art?
Not directly. It doesn't cloak images against AI models the way Glaze and Nightshade try to, and it isn't a "do not train" credential. Refusing hotlinks and blurring on capture makes bulk grabbing harder, and robots.txt can ask known training crawlers to stay away — they follow it voluntarily.
